Prague Airport has been gaining the credit of a renowned host and co-organizer of important cultural and social gatherings. 2007 was the year of the 70th anniversary of launching operations at Prague Ruzyne Airport, the occasion at which a permanent exposition mapping the airport history and current operations was installed and hundreds of people were building a large-scale mosaic in Terminal 2. Prague Airport has been taking part in activities which enable it to open up more to the general public. E.g.: In February 2009, for the second time in the contest history, a live TV broadcasting of the gala finale of the Czech Miss 2009 beauty contest attended by hundreds of visitors and watched by millions of TV viewers took place in the Terminal 2 Departure Hall.
Prague Airport has also become a venue of prestigious international conferences. In June 2008, about 500 professionals from around the world participated in the Global Airport Investment Conference. Last year in May, we hosted the international Routes Regional Europe 2009 conference which is the most important event in the field of air travel industry in Europe.
