Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, will enchant you with its diverse history, art, beautiful sea, and excellent cuisine. The main landmark is the vast medieval castle of Castello di San Michele. Its Elephant’s and San Pancrazio’s entrance towers are fascinating. Be sure not to miss Cagliari’s icon, the Saint Remy Rampart, which offers a beautiful view of the city. Other interesting places include the Cathedral of Santa Maria in Piazza Palazzo, which was built at the beginning of the 13th century, the beautifully decorated crypt carved into the rock, the Roman amphitheatre, and the botanical garden.
