Plan Your Airport Journey in Advance.

Karpathos, a Greek island in the Aegean Sea, will amaze you with its traditional villages, rich history, beautiful beaches, and stunning nature. In the mountain village of Olympos, you can go back in time and learn about the island life of the past. The villages of Aperi, Arkasa, Othos, Spoa, Messochori, and Volada are equally interesting. Other places worth visiting are the remains of windmills (anemomylos). They are located not only in Olympus, but also, for example, close to the village of Spoa. Near the resort of Arkassa on a small headland, look for the archaeological site of Arkassa Ancient Acropolis. From its almost tabletop peak, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sea and the surrounding hills.

Also plan a stop in the capital of Pigadia, built in traditional Greek style, with its dominant feature being the port with a promenade and restaurants. Do not miss the islets of Saria and Sókastro either. Saria is an abandoned island where you can admire the remains of an ancient city, a pirate settlement, and the abandoned village of Argos, or you could go for a swim in a sea cave. The islet of Sókastro is worth visiting for the preserved foundations of buildings from the time of the Byzantine Empire. If you want to laze on the beach or swim in the sea, please know that the village of Lefkos offers one of the best beaches on the island.
