Kerkyra

Corfu, or Kerkyra, is considered the greenest of the fifteen hundred Greek islands. The calm Ionian Sea washes the rocky white cliffs and sandy beaches wedged between them. Numerous cypress, olive, and citrus groves complete the romantic atmosphere of the island, which, according to Homer, was the last stop of Odysseus before Ithaca.

You can follow the winding streets of this emerald island to the capital city of the same name. Its historical part is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Among the buildings of different historical periods and cultures which you can admire are, for example, the breath-taking Palace of St. Michael and St. George and the Cathedral of San Giacomo.
