Luxembourg, a city full of bridges and tunnels, an important banking hub, the seat of a number of institutions of the European Union, and, last but not least, a city with a beautiful historical centre. The scenery is dominated by the Notre-Dame Cathedral, where the remains of King John of Luxembourg are laid to rest. Other interesting places include the Grand Ducal Palace, the Place Guillaume square, and the Casemates de la Pétrusse and Casemates du Bock, located in the place where the first castle of Lucillinburhuc stood. Also visit the Neumünster Abbey and the Grund district, which is a UNESCO-listed historic city centre. If you want to enjoy a beautiful view of the city, be sure not to miss the Chemin de La Corniche scenic route on the rocky Bock hill above the river Alzette.
