7. 5. 2021Effective 23 May 2021, EgyptAir launches a new service between Prague and Hurghada. The carrier will offer direct flights to this popular holiday retreat up to twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. The news services will be operated by modern Airbus A220-300 aircraft, which are quieter, more comfortable and at the same time more environmentally friendly. EgyptAir will operate the new connection from Prague Airport in co-operation with the Čedok travel agency. "Direct flights from Prague to popular holiday resorts in Egypt have long been sought after by Czech passengers. We believe that, during the summer season, the new connection to Hurghada will be used by those interested in trips organised by travel agencies and individual tourists alike. We are also glad that an entirely new carrier has decided to service Václav Havel Airport Prague despite the current situation. Moreover, we can see a potential for flights from Prague to other destinations in Egypt, which we are already negotiating with airlines," Jaroslav Filip, Director of Prague Airport Aviation Business, said. EgyptAir will operate the Prague – Hurghada route using Airbus A220-300 for 137 passengers, who will be able to choose from 122 seats in Economy Class and 15 seats in Comfort Class located in a separate part of the cabin. The flight ticket price includes one piece of checked baggage of up to 23kg in weight, free snacks during the flight and access to the in-flight entertainment system using an own mobile device. A Wi-Fi internet connection will also be available to passengers during the flight subject to a service fee. Tickets will be offered for sale via the www.egyptair.com website or through co-operating tour operators. Prague Airport has prepared a special www.prg.aero/en/destinations website for passengers with current overview of available connections from Prague, including important travel information and additional interesting facts. Throughout the 2021 summer season, it remains recommended to passengers with scheduled flights to review all currently valid conditions for travel before the trip. This includes both the conditions implemented in their final destination and the measures governing their return to the Czech Republic, thus avoiding possible complications during check-in and border control. Passengers should also be aware of all applicable measures aboard their airline-operated aircraft as well as measures implemented at Prague Airport, which meet high standards and comply with all requirements of international organisations. The set airport standards were approved by the issuance of the international ACI Airport Health Accreditation certification, which proves that the high level of working protective measures leads to greater safety of passengers flying via Prague.
