3. 2. 2025Prague Airport continues to support its surroundings in 2025 through its grant programmes. These include the next call under the Biodiversity grant programme, the ongoing Ventilation grant programme, and the 16th year of the Good Neighbour grant programme. In total, Prague Airport will distribute tens of millions of crowns to support ecological and community projects under its grant programmes. Prague Airport will first announce its third call under the Biodiversity grant programme at the beginning of February. “Its goal is, among other things, to increase species diversity, natural water retention in the landscape, strengthen the ecological stability of the urbanised landscape around the airport, and raise awareness of environmental issues. I am pleased that we have already supported thirty beneficial and interesting projects in this way,” Soňa Hykyšová, Director of Environment, Sustainability, and ESG, said. Under the Biodiversity programme, Prague Airport will distribute three million crowns, with one applicant being able to receive up to 300 thousand crowns for their projects. One of the conditions for getting support for projects is to ensure their sustainability for a period of five years. Applications are to be submitted via the e-mail address of biodiverzita@prg.aero, and applicants are able to consult the project details in advance. The funds distributed according to the pre-set criteria help applicants from local government units, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and research facilities to implement their projects. The end of the application period is scheduled on 31 March 2025. The Biodiversity programme, together with other activities, forms one of the pillars of the airport’s long-term ESG strategy, and therefore calls under this programme are expected to be made until 2050.Prague Airport is also re-launching the Ventilation programme this year. It will start on Tuesday, 18 February 2025, when it will first be possible to register for the programme via the www.prg.aero website. Under the programme, applicants can receive financial support for the installation of forced ventilation systems with heat recovery. These systems ensure continuous air exchange in buildings and at the same time allow for indoor heating or cooling without the need to open windows or perform other forms of direct ventilation. In total, up to 17 million crowns will be distributed under the programme. This is the 5th year of calls made under this programme.Last but not least, in May, Prague Airport will announce the Good Neighbour grant programme. Municipalities and city districts of the capital city of Prague affected by the operation of Václav Havel Airport Prague can apply for financial support under this grant programme, alongside public benefit organisations operating in the given areas. “All programmes designed for our neighbourhood have their established tradition and we are very pleased that they work and that there is positive feedback on them. It helps us to respond effectively to the needs of our neighbourhood and support positive changes in communities,” Soňa Hykyšová added.
