Prague Airport is preparing for a strong summer season. According to current forecasts, more than three and a half million passengers are to be handled during the holidays, to whom the proven ten steps to ensure their smooth and trouble-free journey through the airport will be made available once again. The emphasis is mainly on arriving at the airport on time and using self-service check-in options.

“We expect almost seven million passengers to pass through the gates of Prague Airport between June and September. That's eight hundred thousand more than last year. Among other things, this dynamic is the driving force behind our status as the currently fastest growing airport within our category, according to ACI Europe statistics. We are heading to the summer season with more employees, and all our partners, such as handling companies, are also preparing for the increase in traffic. We recommend that passengers use self-check-in kiosks and self-service bag drops in both terminals,” said Martin Kučera, Member of the Prague Airport Board of Directors in charge of Security and Airport Operations.

Prague Airport is therefore publishing the proven ten steps for a smooth passage through the airport, which advise passengers on how to prepare for their departure, from buying a ticket to boarding the aircraft. From the end of May to mid-summer, it is also publishing an educational series on its social networks called (OD)BAVTE!SE [(GET)CLEARED!], in which the well-known writer and podcaster Markéta Lukášková provides the most important travel tips for easy passage through the airport. Everything is backed by the microsite of www.odbavtese.cz, where passengers can find useful information.

TO WHERE DO I TURN IF:

  • My flight is delayed or cancelled – the airline or the ticketing agent
  • I am waiting a long time for my baggage; the baggage was damaged or lost in transport – the airline baggage claim counter, i.e., the claim counter of the handling company representing your air carrier
  • Something happened to me at security screening – the respective airport
  • I lost my personal documents – the police
  • I left something aboard the aircraft – the handling company as items left aboard aircraft are delivered to the baggage claim counter
  • I lost something at the airport – the respective airport’s Lost and Found office

Passengers can find additional tips on how to get ready for their departure on the Prague Airport website.
